Matt Rosendale Has Failed Montana Veterans
Helena, MT – Matt Rosendale talks a big game on standing for Montana veterans, but his record says otherwise. When it comes to defending veterans’ access to health care, Rosendale has repeatedly sold them out.

As a state legislator, Rosendale infamously voted against expanding Medicaid, and has since continued to undermine the program by calling for federal block grants, which would result in massive losses in coverage. Medicaid expansion provides a crucial lifeline for veterans who don’t qualify for VA health care benefits. It also bolsters Community Health Centers across Montana, which help provide mental health and substance abuse treatment services, and where in 2018 more than 5,000 veterans sought care.

Kathleen Williams, meanwhile, was instrumental in passing Medicaid expansion. She is the daughter of a World War II veteran and wife of a Vietnam-era veteran, and she will never stop fighting to ensure that our brave servicemembers get the care and benefits they deserve.

“When it comes to supporting our veterans, Matt Rosendale is wildly out-of-touch,” said MDP Communications Director Nathan Stein. “Time and again, Maryland Matt has worked to sabotage health care for Montana’s veterans. He’s proven several times over that he’s just a typical politician — he can’t be trusted to stand up for those who served.”
