In 2018, Rosendale frequently described himself as a rancher in his stump speeches, op-eds, paid advertisements, social media accounts, and press releases. And when he was asked what separated him from his GOP opponents, his response was, “Piece of cake. Rancher.”
Even while touting his so-called ranching “credentials,” though, Rosendale and his campaign repeatedly refused to answer any questions about his lack of cattle and false rancher claims.
“Matt Rosendale is all hat, no cattle,” said MDP Communications Director Nathan Stein. “Since he set foot in Montana, he’s tried to convince Montanans that he’s not just a wealthy, out-of-touch, east coast real estate developer who moved here to jump start his political career. Someone should tell him that it isn’t working.”
