Helena, MT – Recent reporting reveals that Senator Steve Daines employs a Virginia-based campaign consulting firm at the center of a plagiarism scandal. According to recent campaign finance reports, Daines’ campaign has paid this firm hundreds of thousands of dollars so far this cycle.
This isn’t the first time Daines has been silent when one of his campaign aides committed shady practices.
As the coronavirus first hit, Daines’ former campaign aide Mike Gula launched a company called Blue Flame Medical to “capitalize on the coronavirus response” and used “political connections to facilitate business” selling medical supplies that were in short supply. After Blue Flame failed to deliver on contracts with state and local governments, both the Justice Department and the House Energy and Commerce Committee announced investigations into the pandemic profiteering company. Daines has still refused to answer questions about the nature of his affiliation with Gula and whether he was one of the “relationships” Gula leveraged to start his sham business.
“With these alarming allegations of plagiarism, will Daines cut ties with his shady consultants, or will he once again remain silent on deceptive and misleading behavior from those in his inner circle?” said MDP Communications Advisor Christina Wilkes.
