Helena, MT – Greg Gianforte just couldn’t stand the sight of anglers outside the window of his riverfront mansion, so Gianforte sued public land owners to block stream access to a popular fishing access site on the East Gallatin River.
But there’s more! Greg Gianforte wrote legislation to strip protections from nearly 700,000 acres of public lands — without public input — a move described by conservation advocates as potentially “the single biggest rollback of protected public lands in Montana history.” Those same advocates this week said Gianforte “[has] yet to show convincing evidence of truly listening to the Montanans who love and depend on our WSAs.”
And Gianforte selected radical, anti-access attorney Kristen Juras to be his running mate, who has supported overturning Montana’s stream access law, argued for the “right to exclude,” and “is well known in the legal community for advocating an aggressive, anti-public access agenda.”
Greg Gianforte simply can’t be trusted to protect Montana’s public lands.
