In May, Gianforte voted against a bipartisan COVID-19 relief package that would extend unemployment benefits beyond this week’s July 31 deadline. While some Republicans have signaled a willingness to extend benefits, Gianforte’s position remains that beyond Friday, Montanans struggling to get back on their feet should receive $0 in extended unemployment benefits from the federal government.
“Once again, Greg Gianforte has proven that he can’t be trusted to look out for the best interests of working families,” said MDP Deputy Communications Director Matt Fidel. “As this deadline rapidly approaches, Montanans deserve a champion right now. Unsurprisingly, No Show Greg is nowhere to be found.”
