According to the Missoula Current, “the questionnaire focuses on Montana’s public lands, conservation and outdoor heritage” but Greg Gianforte has “regularly indicated [he] do[esn’t] share those values.” As noted by the Missoula Current, Gianforte opposes fully funding the Land and Water Conservation Fund, a position so out-of-touch, even Senator Daines and President Trump don’t support it. Moreover, “Gianforte support[s] transferring management of federal land,” and opposes “buying any new land for state parks, fishing access sites or recreation areas.”
“Greg Gianforte hates Montana’s public lands so much, he sued the state of Montana to block access to a fishing hole that’s a local favorite near one of his several properties,” said MDP Executive Director Sandi Luckey. “Now that he’s running for Governor, he’s trying to hide his out-of-touch views on public lands from Montana voters. It won’t work.”
