GOP Civil War: Gianforte Votes Against Raises for Troops, Accuses Republicans of Supporting “Nancy Pelosi’s Liberal Wish List”
Gianforte Voted “No” on 3% Troop Pay Raise, Upgrades at Great Falls Air National Guard Base

Helena, MT – This week, Congressman Greg Gianforte voted against the FY2021 National Defense Authorization Act.

Although Gianforte has frequently skipped voting altogether – missing more votes than 93% of Congress – Greg showed up to cast his vote against a 3% pay raise for our troops, upgrades to aircraft at the Montana Air National Guard base in Great Falls, and billions in funding for pandemic preparedness in the military.

When asked about his opposition – given the bill’s support from more than 100 House Republicans – Gianforte lashed outand accused the legislation’s backers of supporting “Nancy Pelosi’s liberal wish list.” Sounds like that would be news to Gianforte’s Republican colleagues!

“Once again, Gianforte is proving how out-of-touch he is with Montanans,” said MDP Deputy Communications Director Matt Fidel. “This week, Gianforte voted against well-deserved raises for our nation’s troops and critical funding to support Montana’s servicemen and women. A 3% raise may not mean much to a multimillionaire like Gianforte, but what else to expect from a guy who makes 3,500 times as much money as the average Montanan!”
