Gianforte Votes in Support of Republican Lawsuit to Eliminate Affordable Care Act and Montana’s Medicaid Expansion
Helena, MT – Greg Gianforte has consistently voiced support for repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which would eliminate Montana’s Medicaid expansion, strip health coverage from 112,000 Montanans, and remove protections from Montanans with pre-existing conditions. Last week, Gianforte continued his assault on Montanans’ access to quality, affordable health care by voting to permit federal funding for the Republican lawsuit seeking to gut the Affordable Care Act.

Greg Gianforte has been an unabashed opponent of Montanans’ access to quality, affordable health care for some time, calling Medicaid expansion “a disaster,” and pledging to dismantle the ACA “piece by piece.” As COVID-19 continues to spread across the country, Gianforte once again reminded Montanans of his dedication to repealing the Affordable Care Act and tearing up Montana’s Medicaid expansion.

“Last week, Greg Gianforte cast a vote in support of ripping health care away from thousands of Montana families – plain and simple, ” said MDP Deputy Communications Director Matt Fidel. “Despite the ongoing pandemic, Gianforte is as committed as ever to gutting the Affordable Care Act and eliminating Montana’s Medicaid expansion. Period.”
