Gianforte Silent on Attacks on Montana Veterans — Where’s Greg?
Helena, MT – This weekend, Governor Bullock and Lieutenant Governor Mike Cooney affirmed his support for America’s service members, veterans, and military families after reports that President Trump stated Americans who died in war are “losers” and “suckers.” Days later, Greg Gianforte still has yet to address the president’s remarks or affirm his support for Montana’s service members, veterans and military families.

It’s not the first time Gianforte has failed to show up for Montana veterans, service members and military families. As Montana’s sole representative in the U.S. House, Gianforte skipped a vote to cut red tape for service members applying for debt forgiveness. Gianforte’s failure to show up for our veterans, service members and military families in both Congress and his campaign for Governor shows where his real priorities lie.

“Gianforte’s refusal to speak out against the President’s remarks is disqualifying for someone who wants to be Governor of Montana,” said MDP Communications Director Nathan Stein. “Nearly one in ten Montanans is a veteran, but Gianforte is more concerned about staying in party bosses’ good graces than standing up for his constituents. Montana’s service members, veterans, and military families deserve better.”
