Gianforte Pledges to Revive Vetoed Legislation, Sign Dangerous Bills into Law
Helena, MT – This week, Greg Gianforte held a virtual event with supporters, during which he bragged about reviving the numerous bills vetoed by Democratic governors in Montana. Gianforte called these bills “good ideas” which have “ended up in the trash can,” offering Montana voters a sense of what they could expect during a Gianforte/Juras administration.
A small sampling of the “good ideas” that Gianforte would sign into law if he were elected Governor:
HB323 – A bill to gut unions in Montana by restricting public unions’ abilities to collect dues.
SB241 – A bill to ban cities from raising the minimum wage above $8.05 per hour.
SB503 – A bill to create capital gains credits for wealthy business owners like Gianforte.
“Gianforte admits it – if he is elected Governor, he will sign the most dangerous pieces of corporate legislation into law,” said MDP Executive Director Sandi Luckey. “Montanans can’t afford to let Greg Gianforte into the Governor’s Mansion. Too much is at stake.”
