Rather than speaking up for Montana’s veterans and military families, Greg Gianforte doubled down on his refusal to condemn President Trump’s shameful attacks.
Instead, Gianforte’s campaign responded to the reports independently confirmed by Fox News and the Associated Press by accusing the Missoulian of focusing on “sensational, anti-Trump stories from unnamed, anonymous sources.”
It’s not the first time Gianforte has abandoned Montana’s women and men in uniform. While serving as Montana’s lone voice in the U.S. House, Gianforte skipped more votes than 93% of his colleagues, including a vote to cut red tape for service members applying for debt forgiveness.
“Standing up for our brave veterans and their families shouldn’t be a partisan issue, yet Greg Gianforte continues to fail the test,” said MDP Deputy Communications Director Matt Fidel. “Gianforte would rather play nice with his party bosses in Washington D.C. than speak up for Montana veterans when their reputations are besmirched. Sure shows where his priorities would lie if he’s elected Montana’s next Commander in Chief.”
