152,000 Montanans with Pre-Exisiting Conditions Stand to Become Vulnerable to Insurance Company Discrimination
This phony lip-service in support of key protections for people with pre-existing conditions comes after Daines has voted repeatedly to gut these very protections he claims to care about. Gianforte has pledged to dismantle the ACA “piece by piece,” and voted against directing the House of Representatives’ counsel to oppose the Republican lawsuit.
If Daines and Gianforte had it their way:
- Montana’s Medicaid expansion, which insures more than 80,000 Montanans and has created thousands of jobs, would be decimated
- 112,000 Montanans will get thrown off their health coverage
- 152,000 Montanans with pre-existing conditions will once again become vulnerable to insurance company discrimination.
“Make no mistake: Daines and Gianforte are committed to sabotaging Montanans’ health care protections in the midst of a global public health crisis,” said MDP Communications Advisor Christina Wilkes. “Montanans deserve representatives who care about protecting their health care access, not ones trying to gut it.”
