Christi Jacobsen Still Figuring Out How Montana Public Lands Are Managed

Jacobsen Has Run Secretary of State’s Office for Nearly 4 Years, Yet is Unfamiliar with the Land Board, and Habitat Montana

Helena, MT – A new report from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle makes it abundantly clear that Christi Jacobsen is still figuring out the basics of public lands policy in Montana.

“Before the primary, Jacobsen told the Helena Independent Record that she wasn’t well-versed in Land Board issues. In a recent interview, Jacobsen said ‘I’ll have to get back to you,’ when asked if she supports Habitat Montana.”

It’s evident that Christi Jacobsen still isn’t “well-versed” on Montana’s public lands. While she is perfectly comfortable reciting vague talking points about eliminating “bureaucracy,” she still has yet to put forward a coherent policy on managing Montana’s public lands, or to demonstrate even a basic understanding of public lands policy.

“Every time Christi Jacobsen opens her mouth, she provides further proof that she isn’t qualified for this office,” said MDP Communications Director Nathan Stein. “While Jacobsen may be comfortable running an office rife with corruption and incompetence, Montanans have had enough of her failed leadership.”
