Associated Press: Gianforte Accused of Illegally Coordinating With PAC to Circumvent Campaign Donation Limits

Helena, MT – Convicted criminal Greg Gianforte has once again been accused of breaking the law, this time for alleged illegal coordination between his campaign and an outside SuperPAC, Montana First Action.

According to the Associated Press, Gianforte’s campaign sent a fundraiser invitation that explicitly asked for donations to the Montana First Action PAC, to “directly benefi[t] Greg’s Governor campaign.” A subsequent campaign finance complaint alleges that the invitation amounted to illegal coordination with the PAC, as a workaround to Montana’s strict contribution limits.

Greg Gianforte is no stranger to legal trouble. After violently attacking a reporter, Gianforte lied to the police and pleaded guilty to assault. This latest allegation may just be the latest addition to Gianforte’s infamous rap sheet.

“Greg Gianforte, a convicted criminal who has shown no remorse for lying to the police, clearly thinks he’s above the law,” said MDP Deputy Communications Director Matt Fidel. “Gianforte should take his shady electioneering tricks back to New Jersey, where they belong.”
