7 Days Since The Republican Primary, AG Tim Fox Still Refuses To Endorse Greg Gianforte
As MTGOP Remains Mired in Internal Chaos, Democrats Unite Behind Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney To Be Montana’s Next Governor

Helena, MT – It’s been seven days since Greg Gianforte defeated Tim Fox in the Republican primary, but the MTGOP is just as fractured today as it was last week. Recognizing the unique threat Greg Gianforte’s candidacy poses to Montanans, Democrats were quick to unite around Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney as Montana’s next Governor. Meanwhile, Attorney General Tim Fox still refuses to endorse Greg Gianforte.

In the past, Fox has attacked Gianforte for “buy[ing] his way into office,” “choke slamm[ing] a reporter,” and dissuading Montanans from supporting Fox “because he is a cancer survivor.” Fox also slammed Gianforte’s poor attendance record representing Montanans in Congress, during which he missed more votes than 93% of his colleagues.

“If Greg Gianforte can’t even get his own party behind him, how does he expect to win over the rest of Montana? Greg Gianforte is so toxic, that even his fellow Republicans want nothing to do with him,” said MDP Executive Director Sandi Luckey. “While Republicans continue to rehash their historically hostile primary, Democrats are fired up to elect Mike Cooney as our next Governor. Maybe the MTGOP should have thought twice before nominating an anti-public lands millionaire from New Jersey!”
