Gianforte Lifts Mask Mandate as COVID Rages in Helena

COVID In The Capitol, Capitol County Calls Out Bad Behavior, CDC Says “Wear Two Masks”; Gianforte Responds “You Don’t Have To Wear Masks.”

Helena MT – As the Montana Legislature announced that Rep. Becky Beard tested positive for COVID and has been attending the legislative session in-person and maskless, and as the Lewis and Clark County Health Department asked the Montana Legislature to follow masking guidelines outside of the Capitol building, Governor Greg Gianforte is set to repeal the Statewide mask mandate, endangering Montana’s small businesses.

“COVID is a jobs killer.  It’s a wrecking ball to our small businesses. By eliminating the mask mandate, Gov. Gianforte is putting these businesses in danger to satisfy his corporate friends,” Sandi Luckey, Executive Director of the Montana Democratic Party. “This decision shows just how little Gov. Gianforte cares for Montana’s small businesses or workers.”
