Swank Enterprise Bailout Stopped – Taxpayers keep $600,000 in the Bank
Governor Brian Schweitzer announced on December 14 that a $600,000 tax-dollar bailout from Senator Gregory Barkus and Senate Republicans to Swank Enterprises will not be given to the company, rather kept in the state coffers.
“Just like Montana families have to make decisions about finances in these times, so does state government,” said Governor Brian Schweitzer. “We will continue to be accountable for every dollar.”

MSFWC is a grassroots network, an affiliate of the Montana Democratic Party dedicated to promoting good government at every level. We are an active, diverse and dynamic group of women working together to address issues of economic and social justice. We welcome people from all walks of life who share values inherent for the common good. We are an organization dedicated to achieving the principles of the Democratic Party.
We will encourage women to run for elected office.We will support Democratic candidates through volunteer work and fund raisers. We will provide a venue for candidates for speak. We will promote Democratic values through activities that shape public opinion. We will provide input to the Montana Democratic Party's Platform and Officer's Conventions. We will encourage the establishment of MSDWC chapters in every county.”
